. Barner was a prospect that I took a mental note of when the first updated for two reasons. First, although he had a 90 second film, he showed tons of good things; and second, when I was at the FDU Mega Camp last spring he was amongst one of the top combine scorers. Film shows us that he can create for himself with the ball in his hands. This wiggle to him, combine with really good speed, makes in an underneath/up-top threat. Additionally, he adjusts to arrant throws with ease and has vision closer to a running back.

probably deserves a higher ranking, yet because of a lack of film we cannot justify a higher ranking. Barner sincerely lit up the one camp he and I both were at, scoring as one of the top combine performers at his position. In the 90 second film he does have we see him use his catch radius to adjust to badly thrown balls and get behind defenders with his quick movements. Barner is, for certain, a prospect to track as he plays out his senior season.

Aside from looking the part, Barner showed up on the field as well – and in more than one way. He registered for the event as a wide receiver and put on for the Barrons when split out wide. He uses his length to his advantage when going up for grabs, extending his arms. This said, by proxy Barner likes to use his hands to come up with receptions in front of him and above his head. He his a plus-jumper too. The other interesting thing Barner did was take spins at QB as well. Not sure if it was for fun or part of his aspirations, but he threw a pretty accurate ball during the handful of spins I caught. If it is indeed something he wishes to do, it would behoove Barner to tighten his throwing motion.
