Right behind Byrd at 25th overall is Green Run’s defensive back Shawn Church Jr. Shawn Church Jr. 6'3" | 180 lbs | DB Green Run | 2026 State VA . I am not sure how he has not committed yet as he passes the eye test at 6’4 and 180 lbs.. Also clocking a 4.45 40 Church’s speed shows up on tape. He too has an extensive list of division 1 offers with his most recent one coming from Toledo. I would expect a decision to come from him soon perhaps after the transfer portal period comes to a halt later next month?

Great film, kid moves like a corner and has the right intangibles for position. Fluid in the hips, good cod, great back pedal, runs well downfield. A little more hand contact on WR than I would like to see, but not a major red flag and can be coached out of him. Tackling needs to be cleaned up as he doesn’t wrap up, run his hips, or have good contact power. Needs weight room as college RBs will break his tackles. Coverage skills are very impressive, can be a P4 starter. The position is very natural to him, has the right traits to be developed. His weaknesses can be improved with strength training and technique. With college workouts and diet could see him as All-conference corner.

He is 6’3 and 180 lbs. with the speed and footwork that even the top wideouts in the state have difficulties getting separation from.
