Whitehead committed to William & Mary back on July 8th. I think one of the main things that made Whitehead recruitable is his ability to line up deep or right in the box. His coverage skills don’t make him a liability when lined up against slot receivers, and he does a solid job of breaking on anything that’s thrown in front of him.

Hard hitting DB who comes up and lays the wood on kids. His film shows him at both corner and safety, has skills for either position. Long, fluid, and good ball skills. A smooth strider who recovers well. His contact power is most noticeable. He needs to run his hips more and go through the ball carrier, but great initial contact. Needs to be careful about injuries because he tackles at pad level. A nice looking 6’0 170, wide body, broad shoulders, can easily add 20 more lbs. Fun player to watch, can pick up more offers. Junior season can dictate a lot about who recruits him. Do not believe his aggression is a liability, but may need to improve on reading keys and discipline. His frame and aggression can’t be taught.

Tayron is a very good athlete with fluid movement. Very good in man coverage, able to mirror and run with receivers matching their routes. Good vision in Zone coverage to be in position to make a play on the ball. Very good open-field tackler who is willing to play physically. He has the athleticism and playmaking ability to be a P4 Cornerback. Currently holds offers from Syracuse, Virginia Tech, and Colorado State, and more will come for him. He is in line for a ranking boost in our future updates.
