Fresh off a recent showing at the 612Q’s Offensive Skills Camp that saw Suggs – verified by laser technology provided by ETS Performance – the 651 product popped off a 4.51 (!) followed by a 4.49 (!) 40, one of the fastest times I’ve ever seen run live throughout my time living in MN, IL, and FL. To say I was excited to see him perform under our lights of competition was an understatement, running the fastest 40 of the day with a 4.51, and following it with a 4.40 shuttle and near-9-foot broad, setting the stage for what was an electric 1v1 performance in Plymouth. Explosive, twitchy, and an absolute burner, Suggs was a polished route runner who tore out of his breaks with noticeable burst, consistently leaving WRs in the dust. Soft hands that could catch the ball away from his body as well. This kid is about to tear up the Summer Camp SZN and the varsity gridirons of Metro 5A football next fall.

One of the fastest athletes in the state, Suggs once again delivered an electric performance during the testing portion of the event, posting a 4.55 40 yard time along with a 4.4 shuttle and a 8’11” broad jump. During the Indy and 1-on-1 drills, Suggs was fast off his breaks and was dangerous on vert routes, using his speed to beat DBs down the field, and for his size, Suggs shows an impressive amount of reach on wide throws. Suggs’ size may limit his role more in the slot, but the talent that runs in the family is clearly evident for Jalen as well.

He had college coachs and us at PRZ fired up with his 40-yard dash times which was a 4.49, the best in attendance which I must add, that was on LASERS. He was very saavy with this change of direction during individual drills showing off great hands and I heard it from a handful of coaches on Saturday, he was also very coachable. Watching back his reps, you can also grasp the tightness he shows flying around the cones which shows you the attention to detail that Shaheed had locked in on Saturday. He picked one of only a couple offers that went out yesterday from Bemidji State in which spending time around the NSIC coaches, you rarely see offers go out that early unless a prospect has themselves a day like Shaheed had on Saturday at CSP. The development I have seen from this kid since we had him at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase last year is excellent.
