Newton measures in at 6’1 170-pounds. This past season, he had 12 receptions for 281 yards with 3 touchdowns and 7 punt returns for 91 yards. Newton displays good athletic ability due to very good jumping, good acceleration, change of direction, and speed. Good release against off coverage. Quick breaking into his route, and uses his speed to gain separation. Even with defenders breathing down his neck, Newton still manages to come down with the catch. Very good ball tracking and catching. Rips the ball out of the air. Very good ball adjustment and body control. Smooth adjusting to over the shoulder throws, or adjusting to throws thrown behind him. He’s also able to contort his body and keep both feet on sideline passes. Exciting receiver to keep an eye on!

He’ll consistently make catches with DBs on him. Newton displays a great ability for catching the ball. Very good ball tracking and catching. Strong hands to hold onto the ball while getting hit. Very good ball adjustment and body control. Newton will propel himself in the air over the DB to come down with the catch. He’s able to contort his body and come down with the catch. He’s aware of where his body is on the sideline and maintains both feet in bounds. After the catch, he uses his legs to churn forward for extra yards. I’m excited to see how he does this upcoming season!
