The 5’11” 185 lbs junior has been making a varsity impact since his freshman year when he helped the Cardinals make a State Championship runner up finish. Fast forward to his junior tape and you see a player primed to be a next level impact player. Sam reads the QB, and routes really well, and his reaction paired with his speed allows him to easily cover half the field while baiting the QB. Ostrenga is also a reliable last line of defense. He is a sound tackler and has the speed to chase down ball carriers. Sam also has the short area quickness and agility to be able to drop down and cover slot receivers in man to man coverage. He has the reactive athleticism needed to be able to run with receivers through breaks, and he has the hands to create turnovers. It is only a matter of time until his recruitment takes off. The 5’11” 185 lbs safety enters his senior campaign with a ton of experience under his belt. The junior has been an impact player on varsity since his sophomore season.
