. I project Jon inside at guard at the next level. That is where he best traits align. I was impressed with Morina’s short area agility in pass protection. He was able to move laterally and set a strong anchor. Two traits that fit perfectly in pass protection at guard. In the run game, Jon really stood out. He played with a wide base, stayed low out of his stance, was able to get underneath his man and use that leverage and his power to bulldoze DL off the ball. Morina also was able to get up to level two to land blocks on LBs. He is a well rounded athlete that the D3 and D2 levels should have a look at.

. Jon has built up a well put together 6’4″ 265 lbs frame with plenty of room to add the size for the college level. This week’s film shows a prospect with solid technique such as a wider base than he played with last year, and consistent hand placement. The LT’s body control and balance before and during the block look strong as well. He doesn’t get overextended and has become patient in his attack. Morina also plays with the physicality, strength, and nasty demeanor to finish blocks that is required for the next level. Jon looks like a riser at the position, and a player to check the recent tape on. Don’t sleep on him.

Jon is an offensive tackle that got on my radar late in the morning session, but still left an impact with what I saw from my eyes up in Grand Forks. He impressed me with his length in 1v1 reps with his 6’4 265 pound frame, as he showed off a long reaching ability with fluid power of strength with his hands with that reach I mentioned and landed a handful of punches with good pad-level and solid balance in his footwork. Jon shows out a well-tuned trigger when he gets out of his stance to the other side of the line with his pull-blocking on tape and shows off the consistent pad-level I saw up at UND. He also does well with his angle-blocking as he shows off that continued power in his hands to drive the defender off balance into the turf. I have to say that I think Jon is significantly under-recruited as far as his level, as this kid looks like an ideal fit at the Division II level coming out of my side of town of my hometown of Sun Prairie West. An athlete who was firmly in the running for position MVP was the Sun Prairie West junior. Jon is a long, lean 6’4″ 262 lbs with traits that I believe can keep him at tackle at the next level. #1 his feet. The feet are where I will focus a lot when watching linemen. Do they play with a wide base when engaged and not engaged? Are they light on their feet and able to get deep into their kick slide to cut off a speed rusher? Morina had some of the best feet of the day. He answered those questions with a resounding yes. The big man also impressed me with his hand placement. He always got a hand right to the center of his man’s chest and used the other to guide the defender where he wanted them to go. Lastly, the junior had solid bend in the ankles and knees with room to further improve. It was a good day for the junior, and he proved he will be a name to know when his senior season rolls around.

Jon had to show off some toughness this week as he played the game with his hand in a cast. He wasn’t able to use it much. That led the 6’4″ 255 lbs OT to rely on getting a good punch and then moving his feet to mirror defenders. That first punch was enough to allow him to not get beat off the snap, and his body control kept him from over extending. The big man is pretty light on his feet, and if he focuses on body control and footwork over the rest of his HS career he can transform himself into an impressive prospect. He deserves a shout out for his effort while facing that adversity. Junior to know.

The 6’4″ 255 lbs right tackle is taking advantage of Sun Prairie split. He was previously on the watch list due to no film, and with the split the junior is now a starting lineman. Jon is looking solid in his first action as well. The big man does a solid job of maintaining a wide base while getting himself in position to pick up his block. He has sufficient range that allows him to get to the second level. Morina also did a good job of keeping his hands inside. Where I’m looking for him to take his next step over the rest of his career is in the power category. I want to see his ability to anchor against bull rushers, and ability to overpower in the run game take the next step. That will really round out his game, and make him a D2 level prospect.
