Power is the first thing that comes to mind when evaluating Haney. The 6-foot, 200-pound athlete reports bench pressing 335 pounds, squatting 500 and deadlifting 600. That strength shows up on the field during his junior highlight video. He rushed for 475 yards and three touchdowns in the campaign. Haney added a two-point conversion. Three of his 6.0 tackles were solo stops, and he had a tackle for loss. His lone kick return went for nine yards. Haney is an interesting running back prospect but also boasts a broad set of skills that could play at other positions on the next level. Haney eats up real estate with long strides and can hit the jets. He quickly gets downhill, stressing defenses with elusiveness and power. Haney is patient and allows blocks to set up. His talents also work well on the other side of the ball and special teams.

Iowa/Nebraska MVP, RB MVP
Easily the best prospect in attendance out of Iowa and Nebraska and the best running back at the SMSU Prospect Camp, was Center Point-Urbana’s

. Off the eye-test alone, you couldn’t miss on this kid on Friday afternoon in Marshall. He showed off the start to finish fluidity you want to see at the running back position while also boosting the change of direction you wanted to see during agility drills that were locked in super tight around the cones. Riley was also I felt one of the most coachable athletes in attendance as the intel he got from the SMSU staff, he was able to put into fruition quickly as you could tell quickly, this young man has it when it comes to attention to detail as the RB position. I think Riley is a sleeper in this 2027 class that is just getting warmed up this summer with his recruitment, with his first offer from SMSU on Friday.

Haney enjoyed a successful junior season at Center Point-Urbana, rushing for 475 yards and three touchdowns this fall. He chipped in a two-point conversion, too. Three of his 6.0 tackles were solo stops, and he had a tackle for loss. His lone kick return went for nine yards. Haney is an interesting running back prospect. As we can see when watching his 11th-grade highlight video, he chews up yardage with long strides and another gear in the open field. He gets downhill in a hurry, can juke an opponent or run over him. Haney runs patiently and with purpose. His speed and athleticism would work at safety or linebacker if things don’t work out on offense.
