The final 2026 defensive back in the state of Kentucky who has stood out to me so far this season is Quilshaun Baines Quilshaun Baines 6'0" | 155 lbs | DB Atherton | 2026 State KY . Baines lines up at safety where he is a true ballhawk in coverage. He does a great job of reading the quarterback and flowing through the secondary, showing the ability to cover a ton of ground to get to the ball. Once he gets in position, Baines has shown impressive ball skills, coming away with a team-high two interceptions though five games this season. He has also shown the ability to fill the lane to provide run support, accounting for 15 tackles and two tackles for loss so far this season. Baines currently holds offers from Austin Peay State, UT-Martin, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber safety prospect.

Coming in at number five on my list is Quilshaun Baines Quilshaun Baines 6'0" | 155 lbs | DB Atherton | 2026 State KY , a defensive back at Atherton High School. What I like about Baines is his size, speed and defensive awareness, showing off his ability to quickly turn around for the interception and maneuver the defense en route to the endzone. I also like how Baines uses his arms to wrap up and contain receivers as well as his ability to stay in front of the pass.
