Babbitt went from a completely unknown prospect to earning several GLIAC offers. Yesterday, he announced his commitment to Saginaw Valley State.
I first watched Peyton’s highlight tape late last winter (sent by a coach). I was blown away. High-end IQ in the open field. Effortlessly weaves his way through traffic. Plus, I found promise in his arm.
Fast-forward to my in-person evaluation, Peyton’s arm proved to be even better than I was expecting. Dude can sling it. Peyton is an excellent talent, and I’m extremely

Athletesism.
Turn on Peyton’s highlight tape and tell me you aren’t impressed. Peyton is a pure athlete who has major dual-threat upside at the next level. I especially like his vision, change of direction, and smoothness in the open field. Peyton looks like Lamar out there seamlessly navigating the open field, running through arm tackles, etc.
Not to mention Peyton’s arm talent. Dude can sling it. Everything in my body says Peyton is a D2 prospect, but at the end of the day, it’s the colleges that will make that evaluation.

Babbitt is going to be one of my most talked about players this offseason. I’m very excited to see this guy test and throw in front of college coaches.
I already have a good idea of Peyton’s throwing ability. This is a player with a massive arm. Someone who can fire the ball 30+ downfield with ease and someone who can throw fastballs to the shorter routes. The biggest question with his throwing is accuracy. Sometimes, Peyton is just a tad off with his passes.
I’m especially excited to see Peyton’s testing numbers. On tape, Peyton’s athleticism shines. I’m expecting standout results.

has been one of the late bloomers that has taken the state by storm. His athletic ability and very good arm will undoubtedly attract offers. It’s hard to find the mix of arm talent and athleticism Babbitt has.
On film he appears fairly accurate and has plenty of elite characteristics. He makes good decisions and appears to read the defense efficiently. It’s interesting to see the resurgence of Orchard View, but it’s very clear that Babbitt is a major driving force.

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Peyton was the #1 prospect I wanted to watch this offseason. I mean, Peyton’s tape shows phenomenal D1-level athleticism, but I wasn’t yet sold on his throwing ability.
After seeing him throw, I’m confident he should be an elite GLIAC prospect who could also earn late offers from MAC programs.
First off, Peyton passes the eye test. I honestly expected him to look smaller, both in terms of muscle and height. Peyton isn’t lying with his 6’2″ height listed on Hudl. If anything, he’s a little taller than 6’2″. Plus, he’s built like a D1 college-ready dual-threat QB.
Now the most important question. How polished is Peyton as a passer?
Peyton has a strong arm and throws with excellent velocity. Dude can rip it. Though, he isn’t super accurate yet. I’d say he threw a strike about 40% of the time. Another 45%, accuracy was a little off but still catchable. Then, 15% of the time, he’d throw a ball completely out of the WRs reach. Another thing worth pointing out is that Peyton’s accuracy didn’t vary too much by the area of the field he was throwing to. He was equally accurate regardless of the route.
Peyton also came across as outgoing, competitive, and he asked a few smart questions.
Because he’s a class of 2026 prospect, D1 offers may be hard to come by, but definitely not impossible if he balls out at a camp. Like I said in the beginning, I think he’ll end up being an elite D2 guy.

I’ve mentioned Babbitt a few times already, but he is seriously one of the highest-ceiling players in the class. Watch his tape and tell me he isn’t.
His athleticism is what really stands out. Peyton is far more athletic than most high school dual-threats, but he’s also far more instinctual. He knows how to expose bad pursuit angles, and he’s overall very productive with his scrambling.
The biggest question mark is still the arm talent. I haven’t watched him in person. His pocket passing at college camps will make or break his recruiting. Could be a D1 guy if he performs extremely well, and could be a D3 guy if he’s a raw passer.

Babbitt is a very new prospect. In fact, I first watched his tape just two days ago.
But WOW- please watch his tape! Peyton has legitimate talent and could be a late-bloomer D1 prospect depending on his offseason performances. The biggest question is- where will Peyton actually be recruited? Plus, where will I decide to rank him?
On one hand, the athleticism is incredibly apparent. Not only is Peyton an excellent athlete, but he has rare awareness and amazing IQ in the open field. His rushing ability is absolutely unquestioned- he’s a D1 talent in that category.
The biggest question that is yet to be answered is his passing ability. Yes, there are some good passes on his highlight tape. But it’s just that- a HIGHLIGHT tape. I really cannot accurately evaluate Peyton’s passing ability until I watch him at a camp. If he’s consistently hitting big throws, knows how to read a defense, and throws with good velocity- I could see a MAC offering. If he’s an average passer, then he may fall into the D2 or D3 range, even with his athletic ability. Super, super interesting prospect here. Gut says D2.
