Expert Analysis
Zack Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Masina showed his dynamic versatility leading the 5A D-II state champs in rushing with over 1,000 yards and 15 TDs after breaking out as a DB in his junior season. He’s a physical athlete on both sides of the ball (6’1″/190) that’s at his best defensively disrupting routes and timing as a pressed-up CB. Strikes WRs with a strong initial punch at the LOS and shows good reactions as a flat-zone defender. He’s not the twitchiest athlete but his coverage instincts and physicality as a tackler could potentially see him transition into a SS role at the next level. On offense, he’s a tough north-south runner that gets downhill with consistent balance and pad level. Masina’s one of the top unoffered two-way players in Nevada’s senior class with potential to play either side of the ball at the next level.

Masina posted his most productive rushing performance of the season with 132 yards and 2 TDs on 22 carries in Bishop Manogue’s 28-7 win over Spanish Springs. The 6’1″/190 senior has been one of the top playmakers on both sides of the ball for the Miners with 300+ yards and 5 TDs rushing and 15 total tackles and an INT from his CB spot. He brings versatility out of the backfield with a strong receiving skillset, physicality between the OTs, and good speed/agility. Masina’s one of the more underrated 2025 prospects in northern Nevada.

Masina’s an under-the-radar DB prospect coming into his senior season. The 6’1”/190 CB offers size, athleticism, and instincts as a perimeter corner. He was effective in both man and zone coverage totaling 3 INTs as a junior and is a committed tackler near the sidelines. He’s strong in press coverage using his hands/reach to disrupt timing and is aggressive to the ball in high-point situations. Masina’s one of the top returning DBs in northern Nevada heading into the 2024 season.
