GICC’s Owen Price Owen Price 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB/DL Grand Island Central Catholic | 2028 State NE is another player who would be near the top of my “28 offer now” list. Owen is a super productive linebacker on the C1 runner-up Crudsaders squad who accounted for 96 tackles, 24 TFLs, six sacks, three forced fumbles, and an interception. Owen passes the eye test right away with a projectable 6’3″ and 210-pound frame mixed with next-level athleticism, reporting an 11.18 100m dash, 10’6″ broad jump, and 40.6″ vertical jump. This isn’t just a “workout warrior” either, as you can see an elite, non-stop motor that puts Owen near the ball on almost every play. He played with both his hand in the dirt and in a stand-up OLB role and showed he can excel in either spot, but will likely project best as an LB who can crowd the LOS, stop the run, and is versatile enough to drop into coverage. Owen is quick to get off the ball and win at the point of contact, with a fast first step and a powerful jab that can knock blockers off their spot. Price showed he can be violent with his hands in order to disengage from blocks and has the burst to close on the ball once he’s broken into the backfield. Owen’s ability to set the edge was also huge for the Crusaders’ ability to defend the run. Secure tackler who can bring the boom while using proper technique. Get this guy on campus ASAP!

At 6’3 190, Owen Price Owen Price 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB/DL Grand Island Central Catholic | 2028 State NE has great size and strength at his stand-up edge position.  He has a strong upper body which is shown by how much force he creates when he hits ball carriers. He shows good hands, hips, and feet and explosiveness in his pass rush around the edge that most OTs he faces can stop. Although the stat sheet shows 6 sacks on the year, Price has countless pressures leading to at least 3 INTs (one’s I’ve seen on film) which shows how much of an impact he has on opposing passing games.  This offseason I want to see Price engage his lower half more when engaged.  With 8 tkls and 4 hurries last week, Price is up for one of his biggest matchups of his career in 6’5 OT Matt Thulin Matt Thulin 6'4" | 275 lbs | OL Bishop Neumann | 2026 State NE .  While Price is a prolific pass rusher, tomorrow will show how well of a run defender he is at this stage of his career.

GICC has a great core of young talent to watch for in the upcoming seasons, including budding two-way starter Owen Price Owen Price 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB/DL Grand Island Central Catholic | 2028 State NE , who flashed his potential at receiver and outside linebacker. Overall, I was impressed with the versatility Owen showed as an outside linebacker, as he was able to play in space, rush the passer, and contain the edge against the run. He is sharp when reading his keys and flows to the ball very well, knowing exactly when to drop into coverage or start working his way downhill. Owen showed the strength and hand-fighting ability to disengage from blocks and even had some impressive reps where he converted his speed to power when taking on linemen at the LOS. Owen does a good job of recognizing route concepts and is quick to pick up receivers coming across his assigned zone. He is a great motor when pursuing the ball, and is a fairly secure tackler when he gets to his spot. Expect another big season on defense from Owen, but also keep an eye on his offensive role this fall!
