About Nicholas

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

If I get the ball and there isn’t a gap, I’ll make one myself. I tend to be more on the physical side, hitting someone on every play, and holding my blocks.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m very persistent in what I do. Whether that’s getting better on a small level like footwork, or something bigger such as my mental level and how I would react to something. Getting better physically but more importantly mentally is what I strive to make better.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved in DECA. DECA is a club that helps with community service acts, but also competing on the business level. I’m also involved with kisses with friends, which is an organization that helps kids with cancer, and make there life better essentially.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’m more of the Team Captain type of guy on the team, which starts with me pregame speeches, breakdowns, and ultimately helping my teammates.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In 7th grade, I broke my leg in a game which lowered my confidence. I hit a massive mental block that I couldn’t seem to get over. When I recovered, I didn’t seem like myself, feeling slower which made me feel as if I wasn’t good enough. But, my mom who pushes me more and more everyday, helped me open my mind more and helped me focus more on having fun with the game and stopped with the self doubt

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go to a college that gives people a chance to show there worth, whether that’s on the field or in the classroom. Teammates that push you to be better by using constructive criticism, and a team that holds each other accountable. Also, a level of maturity as well as responsibility.
