jumped onto my radar with a very impressive junior year. He finished last season as his team’s leading receiver, catching 53 passes for 835 yards and 13 touchdowns in 12 games. Bird has impressive speed which he uses to create separation in the deep passing game and to pick up yards after the catch. He is also very reliable in contested catch situations, using his athleticism to attack the ball at its highest point and strong hands to bring in catches through contact. Bird also made an impact on defense last season, recording 44 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. Nash currently holds offers from Thomas More, Pikeville, and Hanover, and I expect a lot of eyes to be on him after transferring from West Jessamine to 6A powerhouse Trinity for his senior year.

Bird is a good downfield receiver who makes plays at every level of the field. He tracks the ball well over his shoulder and does a nice job finishing catches downfield. He’s also a willing blocker on the outside and brings a physical edge to his game. He runs a good slant route and isn’t afraid to work over the middle. He can also be used on quick screens and has the ability to turn short touches into positive gains. He finished year three with 53 catches for 835 yards and 13 TDs, putting together a highly productive season. I like where he’s at right now, and with his combination of size, toughness, and overall skill set, I think he’ll be a steal.
