He’s currently rated as the No. 21 athlete, but it’s clear that he’s done most of his damage as a running back this season. He’s carried the football 90 times for 681 yards and 11 touchdowns. Tention has also caught 12 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown. I wrote about him late last month. Solid shot at cracking the Top 15 on the athlete list. Tough, but doable.

Tention entered the 2025 season as a prospect to watch, and he has quickly validated that projection. Through just a handful of games, he has already piled up 686 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, proving himself as one of the most productive backs in the region. A versatile playmaker, Tention can generate explosive gains whether lined up at tailback, in the Wildcat formation, or working in the screen game.
Tention runs with burst and vision, showing the ability to hit creases decisively and reach top speed in a hurry. He combines shiftiness in the open field with enough strength to shed tackles, making him a consistent big-play threat. His versatility allows offenses to feature him in multiple ways, and his nose for the end zone makes him a true scoring weapon.
Currently holding an offer from West Virginia State, Tention’s continued production this fall should attract additional Division I interest. With his blend of explosiveness and versatility, he has the upside to emerge as one of the more intriguing 2026 running backs in the area.

Tention has gotten the job done both as a runner and pass-catcher in his first two games of the season. He has carried the football 38 times for 217 yards and seven touchdowns and has caught eight passes for 117 yards and one touchdown. There is one highlight on his current HUDL 4-game video that showcases his shiftiness, quick feet, and vision all in a 20-plus yard run for a touchdown. Tention is more quick than fast, and that’s not a knock his speed at all. He’s tough in-between the tackles despite his size and it’s his quickness through the hole that gets him untouched at time once he reaches the second level. If Tention doesn’t get an opportunity to be a running back at the next level, I can see him possibly switching to the slot receiver position.

Tention was named one of the top players on offense in the Class 3A South region last season. He got the job done as a runner and receiver last season and is Arundel’s top returning offensive player. Tention ran the football 63 times for 426 yards and one touchdown and caught 34 passes for 588 yards and one touchdown last season. His shiftiness and ability to cut on a dime makes him a dangerous slot receiver and as a runner. Add in his ability to return kicks and you have one of the more dangerous all-around offensive weapons in the state.
