Schurrr is a quarterback who plays with confidence, quickness, and good instincts. He’s effective in the run game, showing burst and vision on designed keepers. Schurr’s highlights show him slipping through tight lanes and finishing runs in the red zone. Schurr is comfortable pulling the ball on fakes and attacking open space when defenses overcommit.
As a passer, Schurr shows solid timing and touch. He delivers accurate short throws, hits outs on rhythm, and isn’t afraid to take chances downfield. There are a couple of plays that show him trusting his receivers on 50-50 balls. Schurr uses pump fakes well to move defenders and create vertical shots.
When pressure shows up, he stays composed. Schurr escapes cleanly, avoids sacks in tight areas like the end zone, and makes smart decisions by extending plays without forcing throws. Overall, Schurr is a poised, mobile quarterback who manages the offense well, mixes in timely runs, and shows good feel for both rhythm passing and play extension.
Most likely, he won’t play quarterback at the next level, so I would just advise him to keep working on improving his accuracy. The athleticism (speed, quickness, elusiveness) is already there.
Kaden is MD’s third highest passer in terms of yardage after just one game. In Arundel’s victory over River Hill he threw for just under 400 passing yards with 2 TDs. Kaden dotted it up all over the field getting the ball to multiple receivers. His one TD came on a nicely place outside shoulder deep ball to the front pylon of the end zone where his WR went up to secure the catch for the score. While Kaden did rush for 34 yds in the game, he routinely made plays with his legs in the passing game. An athletic and slippery QB in the pocket. Kaden looks to extend the play with his legs, rolling out and hitting receivers on the move. He shows good pocket awareness, keeps his eyes downfield while on the move and throws accurately on the run. Overall Kaden shows impressive overall accuracy and playmaking ability from the QB spot, while also getting nice zip on his passes. I expect Kaden to continue to put up big time numbers all year in Arundel’s passing offense.
