One of the first players I recall scouting when I was brought on by Prep Redzone, Myles Hamilton Myles Hamilton 6'3" | 190 lbs | LB Linden | 2024 State NJ is one of the most twitchiest, explosive second-level players in the field of public schools (and possibly the state). The first thing that pops is how Hamilton as an elite get off. I would say he jumps the snap count; however, he gets off at this speed with such consistency it is hard to make that claim. This get off, combine with his twitchiness, makes him an extremely tough matchup for offensive lineman. He does a nice job setting them up with speed early on to take the inside later. His fluency in changing direction allows him to win in tight spaces as well. Given that Hamilton played in a 30-stack defense last year, he was versatile enough to line up in the middle or off the edge depending on situation. He seems to utilize the swim move the most. That said, however, I am unsure how much key reading he does. When asked to coverage, I would advise him to not hesitate and be caught flat footed: commit to either the run or the pass. Lastly, Hamilton is a solid, full force-of-his-body type of tackler who should remember to say low when zeroing in for a tackle.

Low-key one of my favorite public school linebacker-edge rusher hybrids of the class of 2024 has been Myles Hamilton Myles Hamilton 6'3" | 190 lbs | LB Linden | 2024 State NJ . Hamilton is blessed with the familial pedigree, knowledge, and abilities to dominate the high school level and immediately impact the college level. The big question though, is where? The standout will be traveling not far, venturing to Connecticut for the next few seasons as he will suit up for Sacred Heart.

Joining teammate Kevin Taylor Kevin Taylor 6'1" | 215 lbs | DL Rahway | 2025 State NJ on today’s list is Hamilton, the senior leader and linebacker for the Tigers. In the 42-all tie against Montgomery, Hamilton had a monster game – particularly on defense. Hamilton made 18 tackles to go along with 4 tackles for loss and 3 sacks in the contest. He pitched in on offense too by converting a two-point conversion and slashing 5/36 and 4/14, respectively, on the ground and through the air

Hamilton is probably the heartbeat of the Tiger’s defense. As he goes, their 33 stack roars. In four games thus far Hamilton has obviously stuffed the run with his 55 tackles (16 solo); however, out of all the run-stuffers on today’s list Hamilton has shown the ability to make big plays at the highest rate. He has 8 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and forced two fumbles thus far. Hamilton also pitches in on offense with 18/131 on the ground and 5/40 through the air in a very run-first oriented offense.

There are few LBs in the Big Central Conference that match the explosive athleticism of the Linden Tigers’ Myles Hamilton Myles Hamilton 6'3" | 190 lbs | LB Linden | 2024 State NJ . He cannot help it. It is in his genes. The 6’3″ 190lb junior is brothers with former Rutgers 5 star prospect Darius Hamilton. The younger Hamilton was busy on defense with 124 tackles, 17 TFL, 9 sacks, 13 hurries, 1 FF, 1 FR, and 1 PD across 10 games.
If it where a question between the hammer and nail, Hamilton is definitely the hammer. He routinely delivers the blow and punishes ball carriers with full-force tackles. I noticed the fluidity in how he moves too. When he takes his pass drop, he gains ground in every step and then explodes forward to cover his assignment. He is very quick off the snap of the ball when he blitzes, and utilizes his hands effectively, to elude would-be blockers who don’t stand a chance.
Hamilton’s film showed a lot of him blitzing and in run support. Based on his productivity, he is clearly one of the Tiger’s best pass rushers so the staff accents his strengths in their weekly game plan. I would like to see a few more instances of Hamilton dropping in coverage or playing man to evaluate that skillset from his LB position.
Regardless, Hamilton is an explosive player who cleans up everything in front of him and lowers the boom when doing so. He is a tough assignment who has the ability to single-handedly wreck offensive game plans.
