Closing out today’s watch list is yet another run-first quarterback. Building off of last year’s 129 carry 1184 yard and 14 touchdown campaign, Linden’s Thomas is off to an incredible start. Through 4 games Thomas has rushed 70 times for 687 yards and 9 touchdowns; meanwhile, when called to drop back and pass Thomas has been 21 of 26 for 151 yards and 1 touchdown and converted 1, two-point conversion. Due to much of his efforts, the Tigers are off to a 3-1 start with their only loss being a 1-point loss at Woodbridge.

In an emotionally charged, back-and-forth game against neighboring city Elizabeth, Thomas led his Linden Tigers to a 27-22 victory with his play as a ball carrier. In a game that was played at Kean University where all proceeds went to the endowment of a scholarship fund in the name of late teammate Xavier McClain, who passed away from a head injury last season, Thomas lifted his team and carried McClain’s spirit. Thomas finished with 236 yards on the ground on 21 carries, while scoring 3 times. Next week the Tigers face off against Rahway.
