Moving south down between Route 1 & 9 and Route 27, Kevin Taylor Kevin Taylor 6'1" | 215 lbs | DL Rahway | 2025 State NJ will suit up as a Rahway Indian as he enters his senior year. A player is disruptive due to his physicality, first step, and motor, Taylor causes a lot of havoc and headaches for opposing offenses. First, he cannot be blocked with a running back. Using his hands, Taylor recognizes reach very well and is able to work the arm over. One to never give up on plays, he pursues very well from backside. Taylor also has very good closing speed as he closes in on an opposing ball carrier.

Kevin Taylor Kevin Taylor 6'1" | 215 lbs | DL Rahway | 2025 State NJ has the potential to be a big riser depending on how his senior campaign plays out. Rahway’s newest import from Linden is extremely disruptive due to his good get off and consistency in getting his hands on his matchup. Recognizing reach well, he is a tough block along the perimeter. Protections either need to slide or lock on to him, as Taylor is too big, quick, and strong to be left alone for a running back to pick up. The arm-over is a successful move for Taylor, who also pursues backside well. Closing speed in tight quarters is a plus of his too.

Practice might be a case of iron sharpening iron if Mesko is forced to line up against Kevin Taylor Kevin Taylor 6'1" | 215 lbs | DL Rahway | 2025 State NJ each day. Last fall Taylor was credited with 66 tackles (19 solos), 21 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. The first key to Taylor’s production is his outstanding get off. Many times he is able to gain the edge of the offensive matchup where they cannot recover. Robotically, Taylor routinely gets his hands on the man in front of him, which prevents him from being reached. We see him demonstrate the arm-over and pursue with purpose from the backside. It also appears that Taylor possesses a second, sudden burst when he is closing in on ball carriers, which prevents them from escaping and also adds extra force to his tackles. An area for Taylor to improve would be his discipline when pass rushing. I noticed him take the risk by taking the inside rush lane at times.
