We stay at Kenosha Bradford for our next standout freshman. This one being QB Mike Payne, the younger brother of ’29 #1 player Nicholas Payne. Mike put up a big performance in his Week 1 game, finishing with 300 passing yards and 40 yards rushing. As a passer Mike is going to fit this system so well as he goes through the program. He is a very quick decision maker and trusts his eyes. The ball comes out quick, and every throw shows the ball has plenty of zip on it to carry it all the way to the receiver with velocity. The placement of where he puts the ball on his passes really stood out on his tape too. Putting it where his guy could go get it, but never really at risk of the DB. I’m going to watching the growth and development of Mike very closely over the next three years.
