For the sixth time since 2012, Oakland Middle School claimed the Rutherford County Middle School Athletic Association championship this past season. The Patriots had a number of talented prospects and they needed every one of them to defeat Blackman Middle School 8-6 in a double OT thriller for the conference title. One of those talented prospects for the Patriots was All-County offensive tackle, Mike Ekezie Mike Ekezie 6'0" | 245 lbs | OL Oakland | 2028 TN . Ekezie is listed at 6-foot and 245 pounds but plays significantly bigger than that. While I obviously haven’t seen it with my own eyes, he claims at 225-pound bench press, 300+ squad and 400+ deadlift. Watching him maul people it wouldn’t shock me if those numbers were accurate. Ekezie was arguably the top offensive lineman on a team that saw both is starting half back and fullback earn All-County honors–that doesn’t happen without the bigs up front.
