Micah Newsome Micah Newsome 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB/TE Christian Academy of Louisville | 2027 State KY caught my attention with a very strong junior season. He played a key role in CAL’s state title run as one of their starting inside linebackers. Newsome is at his best against the run as he does a great job of diagnosing the play quickly then using his impressive lateral movement and speed to flow sideline to sideline to get to the ball carrier. Once he gets to the ball carrier, Newsome has proven to be a very reliable open field tackler, finishing last season with a team-leading 140 tackles and 19.5 tackles for loss in 15 games. He also made an impact against the pass as a junior, finishing the year with three sacks and an interception, which he returned for a touchdown. Micah is committed to Western Kentucky where I can see him eventually becoming a key contributor for their defense.
