Ruffin shows great effort on the field and covers his zone well. He demonstrated a consistent ability to tackle in the open field last season and provides reliable coverage as the last line of defense for CAL. He’s fast, so it’s hard for receivers to beat him one-on-one. This makes him an ideal defender for man coverage. This also translates to special teams, as Ruffin was a key contributor on the kickoff team last season.
