Expert Analysis

Mehki Corbin has a college-ready frame (6-1, 210 pounds) with impressive agility, footwork, and vision. He’s good at reading defensive flow and reacting with sharp cuts to the inside or outside. Corbin has the power to run through arm tacklers and has no problem lowering the boom on would-be tacklers. It’s hard to bring him down on first contact. I like Corbin’s agility and foot quickness due to his size. There are a few plays on his highlights where he’s sidestepping defenders and navigating through traffic. Corbin does a great job of identifying cutback lanes due to overbust by the defence. Corbin is more of a strider but has a little shake and bake to his game. I’d like to see him hit the hole faster and keep on developing his long speed. I love what I’m seeing from him so far at this stage in his high school career.

Just a freshman, at 6’1″ 210lbs Corbin has the size that most seniors look to achieve after four years. A product of Red Lion Christian Academy in Bear, DE, Corbin had an active season. Through 11 games, Corbin carried the ball 73 times for 478 yards and 9 touchdowns while hauling in 5 passes for 44 yards and another score. As a linebacker Corbin made 88 tackles with 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble and recovery each.

New event, but same results for Corbin. I stand steadfast that his future is on the defensive side of the ball, but it was good to see him get a lot of action on the offensive side of the ball at practice tonight. He’s an interesting chess piece for this White team offense to have because of his size and physicality. He’s perfectly capable of dipping a shoulder to pick up some tough yards to keep the chain moving, but he’s also fast enough to hit a quick 10-15 yard hitter. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him have some H-Back/Tight End responsibilities given his size. All that said–linebacker or defensive end is where I see Corbin making a big impact at Red Lion Christian next year.

– Last saw Corbin this past January in pads and I liked what I saw. Seeing him again in a camp setting, what I saw then accurately translated to what I saw this weekend. Physical, tough and competitive
-Looks like he grew a little bit and is up in the 5-foot-11, 185-pound range right now. Possesses great size and strength for a Linebacker prospect at this stage
– Told me he’s off to Red Lion Christian Academy for high school ball. The Bear, Delaware squad has a bright future with 2026 PRZ Next National Watchlist selection Evan Budinger leading the offense at Quarterback

Contrary to popular belief, the state of Delaware does turn out football prospects, it’s just that often times those prospects head to private schools in Maryland, Philadelphia or Southern New Jersey. After seeing the ability of Corbin in person, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him follow suit. He’s impressive. At 5-foot-10 and 180-pounds, he has a very promising frame and the football ability to boot. Complete with the high-cut legs, skinny ankles and top-heavy build, he looks like he’s going to be a big time Linebacker prospect. Moves well laterally and comes downhill with a purpose. Can run the ball on offense if he needs to, but admittedly, he likes blowing Running Backs up. Write down his name to remember.
