I wanted to take time to highlight the top performances from the game and who stayed consistent, opened some eyes, or demanded we put some respect on their name moving forward. Five players on each side got a nod from me!
BLACK TEAM
#3 Xavier Sabb Xavier Sabb 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Glassboro | 2027 State NJ | WR/DB (*Watchlist) – Every time he touched the ball it was a highlight. His first touchdown and a couple big plays got called back, but he got a score when it counted and had an interception early.
#11 Chris Benson | DB – Did a good job not abandoning technique which resulted in a 50 + yd interception with a nice return.
#58 CJ Lewis CJ Lewis 6'5" | 275 lbs | OL Glassboro | 2028 NJ | DT – Played with energy and passion that resulted in a sack and some TFL’s. Fought well through double teams in short yardage situations.
#2 Kris Foster | QB – Delivered the ball to his playmakers and took some risks up the seams that came with a reward in bulk yardage.
#9 Ta’sheem Butler | LB – Made some heads up plays and shot gaps for loss of yardage. When he decided to shoot his gun it definitely was felt the way the RBs started running East and West.
BLUE TEAM
#68 Cooper Ebeling | OL – Very consistent and brought what he did on the practice field to the big game. Drive blocks were on point and took pride in keeping his QB’s upright.
#85 Amouri Herbert-Roberts Amouri Herbert-Roberts 6'2" | 255 lbs | OL NJ | DT – Was always in the right place at the right time. Came up with 2 big fumble recoveries. Moved well laterally when Guards pulled away from him.
#20 Kaleb Wells Kaleb Wells 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB St. Frances | 2027 State MD | WR – Wasn’t content just catching the ball. Got some yacs( yards after contact) and split defenders. Displayed good body control and got out of breaks well to stay a viable target.
#0 Mekhi Corbin Mekhi Corbin 6'0" | 220 lbs | LB Red Lion Christian Academy | 2027 DE | LB/RB (*Watchlist) – Big hit of the game. Played the run well and dropped into coverage with a purpose. When contact was made it he kept his feet alive. Did well running the ball too.
#98 Josef Gunn | OL/DL – Good leverage on blocks and used size to his advantage inside when on Offense. Did the same thing on defense. Returned the favor by clogging up the middle and gave second effort to get off blocks.
