‘s game that should translate to a place like Drake, where he just received his first scholarship offer.
Rangy as a CB that stays attached to the hip of pass-catchers in the open field, Patterson doesn’t give up on the play until the whistle is blown. Even if it looks like a catch is made, the 6-foot-3 and 190-pound DB will stil fight to pop the ball out and force an incompletion. Deceptively quick and showing some burst when the ball is in the air, Patterson can seemingly appear out of nowhere and get a PBU or an interception. He also showed flashes of being able to blitz off the edge, and with some more work and added weight, he could very well play the nickel position at the next level.
Patterson is a good athlete with an ideal frame that gives him position flexibility, now and in the future. That was apparent during a live scouting opportunity when the Prairie Hawks played host to Iowa City West on Oct. 17, 2025. Patterson matched up well with a Trojan team featuring student-athletes with his explosive athleticism. His height and long arms lead to him being a disruptive force on the defense. It resulted in 22 solo tackles and 4.5 stops for loss during Prairie’s first seven games. He also intercepted a pass and was credited with a pass-defended. Patterson had one catch on the season, and it went for a 73-yard gain, illustrating his unusual speed for his size. On top of that, it’s a frame capable of adding good weight without losing his best traits. Patterson could benefit from attending college team camps and scouting combines this spring and summer.
