Mark Johnson | Prep Redzone Scout
Max is an athlete that fits your prototypical safety role. He has a big frame and uses that size and length to tackle soundly and also to break up passes downfield. The ’27 safety has solid range and really good awareness while playing deep zone. That mental side allows him to be in the right place to make big plays for his defense. Not only can you trust him to play over the top, but in the redzone Max has shown he can play man to man and win battles in the quick passing game. His impressive size and strength has also made him become a reliable run filler too. I think he could really impress this summer in front of coaches.

. The 6’2″ 185 lbs athlete shined on the JV team. Whether it was roaming a deep half or picking up a WR 1 on 1, Max demonstrated the range, ball skills, and awareness to be reliable in coverage in a variety of situations. Max even showed off the ability to bait QBs into bad decisions and then make them pay for it. Just as important, Max is a kid that you can trust to make tackles in space or in the box against the run game. Keep an eye on the role this kid carves out as a junior.
