Expert Analysis

Tyson is a Prep Redzone Showcase Alumni and made his way back for another day of impressive play on Sunday. He started with a pair of 5.19 laser timed 40 and broad jumped 8’2.5″. The 2027 has a stout and powerful 5’10” 224 lbs frame. Tyson has learned to win at that size too and he let us see it on Sunday. Tyson has built a great base of strength that allows him to power through OL. Especially if he can get off the line quickly and get the angle so he only has to beat half a man. The ’27 also does a great job using his leverage and strength to be able to catch OL off guard and bull rush them which would get opponents off balance. To go along with that power is the explosive first step. Tyson is able to fly off the line with his hair on fire and can generate so much power in a short area. Tyson’s size might limit him to situational roles, but wherever he ends up he is going to be a great competitior and make an impact and his teammates better in practice.

Tyson was a disruptive athlete last Sunday at the Showcase. He has the build of an LB and that may be his future home, but right now the undersized DL has found a way to consistently get into the backfield. The 5’11” 218 lbs junior ran a 5.03 40, 4.63 shuttle, and a 7.37 L-Drill. Being undersized gives Tyson natural leverage and he understands how to use it. His lower body is backed with power and between that power and leverage we saw Tyson collapse the pocket. We also watched attack with violent hands that were constantly working to clean off the OL hands and win with pass rush moves. The versatile athlete is a unique piece for a future DC to work with.

Rankings Rise: 90 -> 58
One of the biggest risers of the bunch is our final athlete of today’s article. While Tyson is undersized at 5’11” 215 lbs he was a menace on the DL in 2024. His first step burst off the snap and lateral quickness make him a nightmare to try and stick a block on at all, not to mention actually gaining a position of leverage on him. Tyson also does well turning that burst into power. He has shown he can bull rush his man into the backfield to disrupt plays or collapse the pocket and pressure the QB even if he doesn’t get home. Keep track of this disruptive athlete and see how he continues to grow and develop over the coming years.
