A unique situation here – Alnutt signed with UNLV just for the Head Coach to take a job at Purdue days later – Alnut has since picked up an offer from Purdue, but this situation may not fully play out until signing day.
Alnutt was granted a release from his letter of intent to UNLV but has stayed committed to the school for now – UNLV has since names Dan Mullen it’s new Head Coach.
Although late in the FBS recruiting process, Alnutt may have two heavy suitors in the coming weeks. The coach he originally committed to, but at a new school in a new conference and a new head coach at the school, he remains committed and will likely be determined to hold the UNLV class together.
To make things even more interesting, although limited playtime due to injury in the game I really liked Alnutt when I saw Canisius play in the Catholic championship – I think his Sr tape has been a considerable improvement from his Jr tape – which in my database has him flirting with a top 10 rankings in Monday’s update of the 2025 class.

Alnutt, who fielded several FBS offers throughout the recruiting process, decided to commit to UNLV this week. Right now, Alnutt is the only New York prospect to make such a jump out west, but he is joining a team that is trending up to be one of the top G5 programs in the country.
Alnutt will bring good size to the edge for UNLV at 6’4, 250lbs, and I think he actually has the frame to get up to at least 270 and could eventually play 3-tech. Alnutt has really quick hands; you see in the film his ability to win hand fights and shed blocks with quick, efficient movements, and in the camp film, you see him excelling by using his hands to rush the passer. On film, two things that also stand out in the Alnutts game are a clear pass-rush plan and really high-motor finishing plays.

Games are won and lost in the trenches and Alnutt is a player that Canisius will depend upon on both sides of the ball.

out of Canisius picked up his second offer and his 1st FBS offer from Kent State. The defensive end prospect out of Canisius is one of the top returning 2025 lineman in the WNY area and should continue to get looks as he has the size, athleticism, and weight room measurables that coaches look for.
