Expert Analysis

Background: Ortiz is a player who caught my eye during the Garden State Gridiron back in April as he competed for WNY Elite, and dominated against some competitive playmakers throughout the weekend.
Measurables: Ortiz has an impressive frame, starting with his height, which is solid for a WR, standing at 5’11”. His weight he should look to improve, as weighing at 160-Pounds he is on the slimmer side. 180-Pounds is the minimum he should look to reach.
Evaluation: Ortiz is a physical playmaker, who can make catches through contact. His ability to hold onto the ball through big hits is impressive. He also has the ability to go up and make catches on contested balls and 50/50 plays. I like his route running, and he has excellent balance and body control, which allows him to make sharp cuts with his routes. He does have limited film, which I want to see more of him this season, as I feel he can be an elite playmaker for North Tonawanda. I do want to see him work on speed and his get off the line to help him become an elite receiver threat.
