Spuhler is coming off a breakout junior season in 2024 and is continuing to show why he’s one of the top-ranked linebackers in his class with his level of play early into the season. The #3 LB in PRZ NV’s 2026 rankings has 42 total tackles on the season to go along with 6 TFLs and 3.5 sacks through five games. He’s a physical run defender that’s quick to get downhill and fill gaps. He’s violent and aggressive when dealing with blockers and does a good job of reading his keys to beat linemen to the spot. Spuhler racked up 11 total tackles (8 solo), 2 TFLs, and 2 sacks in Bishop Manogue’s 36-29 victory over McQueen in the season opener. The 6’2″/220 LB led the defense in tackles and TFLs a season ago and is primed for another big season as one of the top defenders in northern Nevada. Spuhler also caught his first TD pass in Friday’s opener.

Spuhler was a breakout defender for the 5A D-II state champs, leading the team in tackles (96 total) and TFLs (19.5) along with 7 sacks.
