So far his junior season, he has put together a terrific year and last week, Blocton delivered an especially dominant performance against Stanhope Elmore. Blocton made his presence felt by amassing seven tackles, four sacks, and two quarterback hurries. Blocton is elite at disrupting offenses’ backfields, he applies consistent pressure, can take down the quarterback and has the pursuit and athleticism to track down the ball carrier both behind and beyond the line of scrimmage. Blocton, an Auburn commit, has had a huge season- keep an eye on him and this Pike Road squad as they continue this year!

Malik Blocton Malik Blocton 6'3" | 245 lbs | DL Pike Road | 2024 State AL recorded 5 tackles, 2 TFL, 4 sacks vs Stanhope Elmore. Blocton is able to get off his stance and get his hands on the opponent quickly. His power generates speed, which creates a formidable burst coming off the line. His burst forces his opponent to match his quickness, so they can get to the intersection point. Otherwise, they’ll be outmuscled. Blocton has great upper body strength. His thick frame is evidence of his upper body power. His acceleration creates power, and it’s evident here. His power from his upper body allows him to keep his opponent engaged. He relies a lot on his power to get pressure.

Blocton has great physicality, he consistently overpowers offensive linemen and disrupts plays in both rushing the passer and stopping the run- he can easily generate pressure and collapse the pocket makes him a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks, while having the strength and technique to shed blocks and make impactful tackles against the run as well. Blocton’s combination of size and power enables him to control the line of scrimmage and dictate the flow of the game, making him a incredibly hard player to contain. Last fall was a big year for Blocton, he had a big season where he recorded 54 total tackles (32 solo, 1 for loss) and 6 sacks. Just this  past week, Blocton pledged his commitment to Auburn!
