Hardy’s 3.5 sacks were second for Hillside last season, but his impact goes beyond the box score. On an undersized defensive line, Hardy is strong enough to do the dirty work, eat up blocks, and free up teammates. He can slide down inside, but he’s at his best off the edge. His length is much better than you’d expect from a guy under six feet, and that allows him to beat blocks with speed and bend.

Though he’s likely going to be better known as a pass-rusher, Hardy is thriving as a smart run defender as a sophomore. He’s gotten after the passer as well, getting a few sacks this season. He has longer arms than his height would suggest, which allows him to both get around the edge and keep offensive linemen off his body.

Harvey doesn’t have a ton of experience or much film, but the rising sophomore played well in limited snaps as a freshman, racking up 10 tackles and a sack. He’s working in the weight room to add weight and there’s a huge need for pass-rushing experience on Hillside’s defense after it lose several key players on the edge.
