Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A talented dual-threat quarterback on the rise in Gwinnett County, Cross is a lean junior who shows lots of promise last season as a sophomore. Playing against high-quality competition, Cross was still able to throw for 1,725 yards and 15 touchdowns while making some plays with his legs. As a junior, Cross should be even better. He’s got a gifted arm, can throw on the run, and has a chance to put up big numbers while continuing to limit the turnovers. He shows easy Power Four talent, and if he takes a step forwards in his progression, Cross has a chance to lead Collins Hill to a giant 2025 season this fall. He was an easy addition to the latest rankings and now comes in as the No. 14 QB prospect in Georgia for the 2027 class.

, who recently picked up an offer from Auburn University — a testament to his growing talent and potential. Standing at 6’3″ with a strong, accurate arm and the mobility to make plays with his legs, Cross is the definition of a true dual-threat. Last season, he threw for 1,725 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions, posting an 84.6 QB rating. In today’s game, everything revolves around quarterback play, and Cross has the tools to take this offense to the next level. If he takes the next step in his development, don’t be surprised if Collins Hill finds themselves punching their ticket to the state championship.

A lean, athletic quarterback in Gwinnett County who can absolutely launch the ball down the field, Cross is a promising quarterback on the rise with one of the strongest arms you’ll find across the state in the 2026 class. He’s quick and agile when he wants to run, but his ability to throw the football is why his stock is on the rise on the recruiting trail. He shows impressive ball placement on his vertical throws and the ability to make a tough, accurate throw on the run and outside of the pocket. He ended his sophomore season with 1,725 yards and 15 touchdowns and has the potential to improve those numbers in a big way with a big off-season. If he continues to add muscle mass and develops more and more as an overall quarterback, big offers are bound to come his way.

. I first saw Cross this offseason and was intrigued by his physical tools. He is listed at around 6’2 165 with more physical maturity left in the tank. He is a bit raw and might be clunky at times as a mover, but his athleticism flashes when he is in the open field. He has quick, natural arm action, allowing him to get the ball out in a hurry and fit it into closing windows.”

Another young Collins Hill product that continues to impress us every time we see him. Good presence in the pocket, tall with a long thin frame. He does a good job of keeping his eyes downfield and made some accurate throws on the run. He has the arm strength to make throws to all areas of the field.
Outlook: Cross passed for over 1700 yards this season for Collins Hill as a varsity starter. Athletically he has all the tools to develop into a next level prospect. HM All Region this season and as he develops physically look for Cross to start catching some attention.

Cross was the top QB performer, consistently pushing the ball vertically while keeping the defense accountable with his legs. He has an explosive arm, putting the necessary spin and drive on the ball to fit it into tight windows. During the game, he flashed some touch and precision, placing the ball beautifully over the middle of the field and in the corner of the endzone. In the short and intermediate game, he can sometimes put a little too much power on throws, but you’d rather have to coach that out of a youngster than coach it into him. Cross has some juice in his arm and is a good athlete. He possesses D1 developmental upside and still has plenty of growth ahead of him.
