Mac has been one of my favorite defensive backs for a while. He can excel in both man and zone coverage, and his ability to break on the ball while it is in the air is impressive. Mac has good speed and can stay with receivers in coverage, but his football intelligence is one of his major strengths. He is always in the right place and at the right time defensively.

Summerville had an excellent sophomore season, picking off seven passes while playing both safety positions. He can come down in the box or play a center field role. He’s athletic, and has the speed to recover deep or to break on balls thrown over the middle of the field. He can hit and he’s not afraid of contact, giving him a nice balance to his game.

Summerville can really move, with a 4.6 40 and 4.3 shuttle, and that shows up on film. His ball production was off the charts, as he registered seven picks last season in 10 games. That’s a testament to his ability to read the eyes of the quarterback and play facing the line of scrimmage.
