About Charlie
Expert Analysis
Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
Charlie has a lot of college football programs interested in him, and there’s a good reason for that. Excellent size always excites coaches on the next level, and the power in Charlie’s game overall gets you excited. Throughout his film, he is constantly putting defenders on the ground and finishing them to the echo of the whistle. Fun stuff to watch!

Stauffer stands out as one of the biggest prospects in the state, regardless of position. While his frame suggests a natural pass protector, his dominance in the run game may be even more impressive. For his size, he moves exceptionally well, getting downfield and finishing blocks with a physical edge—often through the whistle and into the ground. His combination of size, mobility, and toughness makes him a force in the trenches.

After playing as a guard as a freshman on varsity, Stauffer kicked out to tackle and flashed serious potential. One of the highest-upside offensive linemen in the state, Stauffer doesn’t make many mistakes and he’s a better pass blocker than most rising juniors. That profile of size, experience, and pass-blocking ability will earn him serious FCS and Group of Five interest.

Stauffer has been a scouting favorite of mine for a while and after playing guard as a freshman, he kicked out to tackle as a sophomore, as expected. He did a great job last offseason of reshaping his body for the move and flashed as a powerful run blocker at left tackle last year. Not only has he produced at the high school level, but he has the upside to be a great college player as well.

I really thought Charlie was an impressive player – this was my first time seeing him live in person. Charlie did a good job in coming off the football and controlling his defender in the running game, fitting his hands well and driving him down field consistently. In pass protection, Charlie did a good job of sliding and mirroring the pass rush of defensive ends going against him and did not give up much pressure from his side of the offensive line.

Stauffer played mostly guard last year, but he probably has the length to kick out to tackle this season. He has great size and has flashed power, though that part of his game is still a work in progress and he tries to catch his strength up to his body. The upside is here and we’re excited to see where — and how — he plays this season.
