is one of those quarterbacks who just looks the part the second he steps onto the field. He’s long, composed, and has that easy, natural delivery that makes things look smoother than they should be. Last year at Blue Ridge, you could already see the maturity in how he handled himself — calm in the pocket, sharp decision-making, and a real sense of control even when things broke down around him. Now he’s landed at Cactus, and it’s a spot that makes a ton of sense for what he brings to the table. He’s stepping into a system that’s got weapons on the outside and a line that should give him time to operate. What stands out most is how he sees the field. He’s got the height to survey over the line and the patience to let routes develop. He doesn’t force much. He just takes what’s there and delivers it with accuracy and confidence. Once he gets the green light to suit up, he’s going to be a big-time piece for Cactus.

Berlin is a kid that flashes FCS potential and holds a high ceiling moving forward. Good frame at 6’3″ 170lbs with room to add mass, but possesses that functional play strength to throw opponents off him to escape a sack or put his shoulder down and run through opponents for extra yards. Very good pocket mechanics with a smooth, effortless release and the ability to hit all 3 levels of throws with velocity, touch, or finesse. He stands tall and collected in the pocket with his eyes downfield to deliver darts, but his ability to throw on sprintouts/boots or extended plays is very impressive. He does a great job throwing from a coordinated position on the move and can flip his hips and get the ball out quick in his non-dominant direction. Along with this, he does a good job knowing when to abandon the pass and take off.

has a natural ease to his game that’s hard to ignore. At 6’3″ and 170 pounds, his long arms give him an advantage — translating into effortless arm strength and a clean, fluid throwing motion. What really caught my attention, though, was the way his passes came off his hand — an incredibly catchable ball with just the right touch. Berlin’s mechanics were polished and smooth, making every throw look like it came from a seasoned veteran. Add to that his experience leading Blue Ridge’s offense and his steady improvement year over year, and he’s undoubtedly put himself in the conversation of top young quarterbacks to watch.

was very impressive throwing the ball around at the PRZ Arizona Combine. With really nice length and an incredibly smooth delivery, Berlin looked very natural playing the position. Though his feet aren’t the fastest, I thought his footwork was great and he did a nice job of using his legs to drive his throw. At 6’2″ he has the size and a high release point to never really have to worry about the bigger players in the trenches. Coming off a season where he was two yards shy of 1,800, Berlin seems to have been working hard on his accuracy since the end of last season. I’d expect a much higher completion percentage and lower TD/INT ratio in his junior campaign.

finished his sophomore season just short of 1,800 passing yards for Blue Ridge out in Lakeside. Showing great touch on the deep ball, the Blue Ridge offense was very explosive with Berlin at the helm, averaging over 15 yards per completion on the year. He’s demonstrated that he has good form and footwork, though it can be inconsistent at times. There’s a tendency to fall out of some throws that he might not have to. Where Berlin truly shines is when he breaks out of the pocket; he’s a true playmaker. His ability to avoid the rush and keep his eyes downfield is extremely impressive and someothing I’d love to see more of as he continues to grow his game. I’m particularly looking forward to watching Berlin’s footwork at the combine because of his rhythm in the pocket. Marrying his feet to his hands well, he rarely seems to be out of position.
