A well-covered prospect on here who is known for being an incredibly aggressive defender.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Luke averages 3+ open-field tackles per game. He does an excellent job at reading, reacting, and attacking. If the opposing offense runs outside zone (or even counter) to Luke’s side, you better bet Luke will be taking an aggressive angle to the RB. Against teams running the Power T, Luke is able to line up inside the box, and fight through blocks + fill gaps just as a linebacker would.
This season, Luke has made his presence known a whole lot more on the offensive side of the football. Truly a top-tier player in the OK Conference, and someone who is going to play a massive role in tonight’s playoff game against Grandville.

Luke was one of the hardest workers of the entire evening. Besides playing special teams and a bit of offense, he was tasked defensively with covering Saline’s TE (Georgia commit) and did a really good job. Multiple times he was able to lock his route down completely, and even when he did allow a catch, he brought him down immediately. One particular play, the TE caught a short throw underneath and Luke made an impressive open field tackle before allowing hardly any yardage. The Ferris State commit was all over the field, and will be one of the best defenders in the state once again.

The most aggressive safety in Michigan. Period.
Luke plays like an elite Mike LB as a defensive back. His tape is full of incredibly impressive hits against teams like Cass Tech and Grandville. Any play behind the sticks and outside the tackles, Luke has a good chance of blowing up. Rarely have I seen a player so dang reactive.
Luke will be an amazing player for Rockford again this season. Should be his best season yet, assuming a clean bill of health.

compete at our showcase. This is a player that I’m obviously very high on. Ranked high amongst D1 prospects despite zero D1 offers.
Luke’s tape is simply a step amove most MAC prosepcts. He’s one of, if not the best run stopper in the state. Extremely physical, year-round worker, etc. I do have a few questions about how he is in man coverage, and his testing numbers will shed some light on his ceiling.
Regardless, Luke is a hard worker, a competitor, and someone who I think will find success this summer. Can’t wait to watch this guy compete.

Luke has zero D1 offers, and even though I’m ranking him #3, I expect him to go D2.
Though, his tape is far better than several DBs at powerhouse schools with D1 offers.
Strengths
- Works year-round on strength and athletic training
- Very physical and willing to stop the run
- Tackles and fills run like a Linebacker
- Good ball skills
Weaknesses
- Could be a touch more explosive
- Great at forcing PBUs but could be more aggressive to earn INTs
- Struggles to read QBs eyes
- Overall looking for Luke to be a bit more reactive and instinctual when defending pass
Come on now. Luke, without a doubt, has better tape than several Division 1-offered DBs. Please, let me know if I’m wrong here.
The best run stopper in this class. Able to creep up, take on blocks, and make open-field tackles. A good DB- good zone player but could definitely work on reading QBs eyes and attacking the ball more often.
Dumbfounded that Luke doesn’t have a single D1 offer. I know- he’s 5’11”. Still, a D1 player in my eyes.

An all-around phenomenal high school DB. Can play man-to-man, can stop the run, can drop back into zone. Whatever you want, Luke can fit that role.
Against Cass Tech, Luke had a phenomenal game, further proof that he’s able to get it done against top competiton.
I also know that Luke has great athletic testing numbers. Really, I don’t need to sell anyone on Luke because he already has an offer from Ferris State. D2’s usually wait until the spring before a prospect’s Senior season to recruit and send out offers, but Ferris obviously agrees with me in my evaluation.
Will be a great player in the GLAIC if he chooses to go D2. Could also work his way up on a MAC roster.

Luke is someone who I’ll probably watch the highlights of every week. I watched his tape against Cass Tech, but Grandville is a very, very different offense.
Defending against the Wing-T, you need to play fast and you need to tackle well. For much of this game, Luke lined up on-ball which is different to what I’m used to seeing. The tackle at 0:12 shows great pursuit. He initially gets blocked but makes up for it with an excellent burst and a great shoestring tackle. The very next play shows more great pursuit as Luke eliminates what could have been an explosive TD. 0:43 showcases some pass coverage. I love the hit he put on the receiver, but I wish Luke reacted a step faster- that would have given him a PBU opportunity. Good tape, and I’m excited to see how he does against other OK Red competition.

Luke (Safety) had another very good week. This week, he was a major piece of run support going up against an elite rushing offense. A few Muskegon runs broke through the second level, and on seemingly all occasions, Luke was able to make the tackle. Even better, Luke made tackles near the line of scrimmage on some of their slower-developing plays, which is incredible for a Safety. Luke was also able to show some reactivity and range on a solid PBU.
I’m very excited to see what Luke will do for the rest of the season. I’m also very excited to see what kind of college attention he receives this offseason!
