This was the first year we got to see his talents on display, and Shafer made the most of it and put himself on college radars. He has natural instincts for the position and does a nice job finding open space and creating separation during his routes.

Shafer is a longer slot receiver with a quick release and speed to create consistent separation. He has the size that could allow him to play outside next season, but Shafer was a reliable target over the middle with the ability to work towards the sidelines as well.
