Wrapping up my 2A All-State Team on offense is senior Lucas Childers Lucas Childers 6'4" | 260 lbs | OL Somerset | 2023 KY from Somerset. Childers is a big, athletic offensive tackle that plays on the left side and does a great job of protecting his quarterback’s blindside. In pass protection, Childers shows great footwork with the ability to drop back and mirror pass rushers on the outside. He also shows the willingness to continue to work to make sure his man doesn’t get to the quarterback. In the run game, he has shown the ability to create movement off the line of scrimmage and also has been reliable at picking up blocks in open space when he gets up to the second level. Lucas doesn’t currently hold any offers but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some come soon as he is a very talented offensive lineman that has been receiving a solid amount of interest from college coaches.
