We last wrote about Lensch before the season, so an update from his sophomore campaign is in order for our No. 4-ranked linebacker in the 2028 Class. He collected 15.0 tackles, eight of which were solo, and added 1.5 tackles for loss. As much as I enjoyed watching Lensch’s freshman highlights and writing the evaluation, it was great to see improvements when viewing his sophomore clips. Lensch is a good athlete with long arms and a frame that can comfortable take on good weight. Adding strength to his speed and agility furnishes Lensch with a high ceiling with that being a more likely outcome working with a program that’s among the state’s best in developing talent for the next level. Lensch is sound against the run and can stick with pass-catchers in coverage. He looks like an outside backer or a hybrid in college at this point.

shined as the signal-caller for the Spartans’ freshman team last season, and he’s poised to earn the starting role on the varsity team as a sophomore. Dualing as a QB and Free Safety, Lensch boasts plenty of athleticism to play both positions at a high level. Lensch has a tall, commanding presence in the pocket, a southpaw with a strong arm and great mobility that fits with the triple-option style very well. In the secondary, Lensch has excellent closedown speed to limit yards after the catch on short passes while also covering the deep zones, while showing great ball-skills and vertical ability to get up in the air and pick off passes. Lensch’s skills should translate well on the varsity lineup, and he’s bound to find plenty of reps on that unit very soon.

Lensch quarterbacked the Pleasant Valley freshman squad to an 8-1 record in 2024, when he tossed 13 touchdown passes. Lensch has the luxury of continuing his quarterback development with the ace in his back pocket of being athletic enough to potentially switch off the position if a clearer path opens up. Lensch’s 9th-grade highlight video features him gashing opponents at multiple spots on both sides of the ball. The lefty fires a long touchdown pass on the first clip. Later we see him running through and away from the defense after keeping the ball on the option. Other clips have him looking fast and physical in the secondary. Lensch is one to watch in 2025, when he could break out for one of the state’s top programs at developing talent.
