The Wazzu commit carried his team to a victory. 19 carries for 208 yards and 3 touchdowns with 3 receptions for 24 yards. He has elite athletic ability due to elite speed, acceleration, very good balance, and change of direction. Explosive start at the line of scrimmage. Very good vision to identify gap to run through. Kalsbeck will explode into the gap, and burst into the 2nd level of the defense instantly. Very good inside running. Very good outside running. He turns the corner and can use his home run speed to house it. Kalsbeck consistently gets yards after contact due to his strength and balance. He’ll truck through the defenders, or use a powerful stiff arm to keep the defender at bay. Kalsbeck is a beast, and will look to continue dominating in the 3A championship game.

Kalsbeck is a fantastic two way player at RB and LB, earning him an offer and committing to Washington State University. The 6’2 210-pound beast had 165 carries for 1511 yards with 20 touchdowns (4th), 18 receptions for 221 yards and 1 touchdown, 90 total tackles (68 solo, 22 assisted), 15.5 TFL, 11 sacks, 20 QB pressures, 3 FF, 2 FR, and 2 PD. I rarely give elite grades to players, and Kalsbeck has a couple. Elite athletic ability due to elite speed, acceleration, very good change of direction, and balance. Kalsbeck has an explosive quick start and uses his very good vision to identify the correct hole to run through. Mixture of a weaver and a power back. Runs through the linebackers or runs around. As an outside runner, he uses his speed to turn the corner and runs all the way home. He has very good hands and is consistent out of the backfield. Brings the same energy to the defensive side. Elite bend around the edge, very good bull rush and spin move. Elite run stopper and very good tackler. Very good strength. He has the athletic ability to cover tight ends out in space and can also rush the QB. He is the real deal, and WSU is getting a stud. You WILL be hearing his names on Saturday in a couple of years.

Kalsbeck was a demon on both sides of the ball, earning him the #1 ATH spot in our Colorado rankings. The RB/LB measured in at 6’2 210-pounds, he rushed the ball 165 times for 1511 yards and 20 touchdowns, 18 receptions for 221 yards and 1 touchdown, 90 total tackles (68 solo, 22 assisted) 15.5 TFL, 11 sacks, 20 QB pressures, 2 PD, 3 FF, and 2 PD. Kalsbeck has elite athletic ability due to elite acceleration, elite speed, very good balance, and very good change of direction. As a running back, he has very good vision. Shifty yet powerful. He either runs past defenders or runs through them. Very good mental processing. As a linebacker, he is fantastic. Elite bend around the edge. Very good bull rush. The OL doesn’t know what hit them, that’s how fast he is. Very good strength. When he’s out in coverage, he’ll watch the QB’s eyes and then attack. He’s an elite run stopper and very good tackler. Kalsbeck is a top tier athlete and should be a 4-star athlete in my opinion.

Kalsbeck was a dominant force throughout the regular season, at both running back and outside linebacker. This playoff game was no different. The 6’2 210-pound junior carried the ball 15 times for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 receptions for 21 yards. On the defensive side, he had 8 total tackles (6 solo, 2 assisted), 1 TFL, and 1 QB hurry. Kalsbeck has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, balance, and good change of direction. Defenders launch himself at his legs, and he still stands up, taking multiple hits per rush. Kalsbeck even hurdled over a defender into the endzone. He demonstrated very good vision to identify the correct hole. If it wasn’t there, he’d use his good change of direction driving with his foot to jump out of the way. Kalsbeck has a good stiff arm too. On the defensive side, he’s a sure-fire tackler. When the ball carrier gets inside his vision, he attacks not allowing them from his grasp. Landon is an exciting 2-way player, who will continue to grow into next year. I’m excited to see his next performance in the playoffs.

Kalsbeck is a dawg on both sides of the ball and is an explosive play waiting to happen. On the defensive end he is a backer that is able to use his speed to get to the back field and bring the QB down when his number is called. He has the ability to drop back into coverage and can get out of breaks quickly, showing great hands and being able to take INTs back the other way. On offense he has the ability to hit the hole quickly and turn on the jets to outrun defenders. He has good vision and is elusive, being able to make the first defender miss. With his ability on both sides of the ball, he will be a player that you will need to know.

Kalsbeck is a back that has great balance, being able to break through tackles and stay upright to pick up extra yards. He has some speed and when he gets into the open field can break away from defenders to get into the end zone. He has a physical running style and takes multiple defenders to bring him down at times. Should be a back on top of the radar this season.
