Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Bishop built his reputation as a true ballhawk, consistently showing strong tracking ability and reliable hands when opportunities presented themselves. His awareness in coverage allows him to anticipate routes and attack the football, leading to timely interceptions and pass breakups. Bishop also brings value as a sure tackler, showing a willingness to come downhill and finish plays in space. His ability to lock down his assignment and limit big plays makes him a dependable presence in the secondary. Bishop has the tools to compete at the FCS level and is actively pushing for scholarship attention. With continued exposure, he is well positioned to draw increased interest ahead of the next signing period.

Bishop has been killing it all year long for Dakota Ridge. The 6’1 180-pound DB has 31 total tackles (22 solo, 9 assisted), 2 TFL, 1 sack, 3 QB pressures, 3 PD, 2 INT, and 1 FF. He has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, change of direction, good jumping, and acceleration. He has a smooth and controlled back pedal. Very good at jamming the receiver at the line of scrimmage. He stays stride for stride in man coverage, and shows very good closing quickness. He’s good at creating pass breakups with his good timing. Very good read and reaction speed. Bishop consistently shows up in the run game with his very good tackling. Very good range as well. Always running around and helping teammates even if they’re on the other side of the field. Bishop is a great prospect that deserves some more love.

He sticks to the WR like glue, and has very good closing quickness. I’ve spoken previously about how good he is at timing pass break ups, and I’m saying it again. Bishop is also very productive in run support and a very good tackler. I’m surprised he hasn’t gotten more looks yet, but I believe with another strong outing, he will have tons of offers.

Bishop is a DB that is good at dislodging the football from the receiver. He is able to play through the receivers hands and punch the ball out once they go up for the catch. He is a player that plays with physicality and will come up and pop the ball carrier. In coverage he can get hands on and bump the receivers off of their route. He will be another stock watch player to know and is looking to have a breakout season.

Bishop is another player who is no stranger to the radar for the same reasons that made him a standout during the showcase. His ability to read the field, identify and break down route patterns, and make a play on the ball put him in a category with the younger players worth investing in early. Bishop has a high ceiling as a well-rounded safety who is on the verge of having a breakout year.
