was the highest rated prospect when it came to the newcomers in this latest update. He has been a prospect that we’ve had on our radar since our 2026 prospect coverage first began halfway through the previous season. We said it then and we’ll repeat it now. There is a lot to like about Williams when it comes to his potential as a prospect. He looks the part immediately with a strong frame at 6’6 and some of his film from last season is incredibly impressive. But right now, it’s simply potential and we’re hoping to see Williams take that next step this fall on the varsity level. Edmond Memorial had a very senior-heavy offensive line last season so now Williams has the opportunity to crack the lineup and be an impactful player up front. If that happens, he’ll take another jump up in this class.
We wrote about Edmond Memorial freshman offensive lineman back in January when we debuted our first 2026 rankings. Williams landed on the watch list but the upside is very clear moving forward and he won’t be on the watch list for long. Williams has a very high ceiling when you look at his size, wingspan and his dominant blocking style. Now, breaking down his film, the first thing that we notice, which we discussed back in January, was the non-varsity action. We are looking forward to seeing the impact Williams can have on the varsity level. But based on his film from last fall, Williams has the potential to be an immediate impact player for Edmond Memorial this fall. Williams was absolutely dominant when he locked on to a defender at the tackle position. At 6’6, Williams has the size and frame to be a big time tackle prospect moving forward. We also like the athleticism that Williams showcases on the field and he also is a standout on the baseball field as well. His hitting ability is off the charts to go along with that long wingspan that makes it very difficult for defensive ends to get a clear lane to the backfield. As Williams gets on to the varsity level and gets more reps against the top competition in the state, we think that he has the potential to absolutely blow up this fall and moving forward.
Out of the five prospects on this breakdown, we’re still waiting to see more from Edmond Memorial offensive lineman Laird WilliamsLairdWilliams

on the varsity level. But we’re buying stock on him early for a few reasons. First, Edmond Memorial’s offensive line is senior-led and cracking that lineup was going to be tough. Second, Williams is already 6’5 and his frame is only getting bigger and better. The film that we have checked out is Williams playing freshman ball and he towers over almost everyone else on the field and the brute strength and power is there to go along with his size. The film that we’ve watched is definitely impressive but we do have to watch it through the frame that he is going against others his age and the size advantage is obvious. We’re looking forward to seeing Williams at the varsity level in 6A-1, going against prospects that are older than him. But there’s a lot to like about Williams moving forward and we think that he’ll end up being one of the better guys at the position in the future.
