Tinlin was one of the more intriguing quarterback prospects in attendance, combining strong arm talent with high football IQ. During the event, there was a notable moment where he identified an open throwing window but hesitated, resulting in an incomplete pass. What stood out, was his response. After I picked his brain about the situation and he processed the feedback, Tinlin made the necessary adjustments and was able to complete his next handful of passes, showing a high level of coachability. His ability to learn and apply corrections in real time is a valuable trait. Paired with his natural arm strength and understanding of the game, Tinlin is a prospect with significant upside and plenty of opportunities to showcase his growth this offseason.
Tinlin’s season was limited to four games, yet his performance in that stretch highlighted significant upside. He completed 72 percent of his passes for 560 yards, tossing seven touchdowns with only two interceptions. His efficiency and command of the offense were evident, as he consistently displayed accurate throws and made smart decisions under pressure. Tinlin also contributed as a runner, totaling 159 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries, showing his dual-threat capability. The film shows a quarterback comfortable inside and outside the pocket, capable of extending plays while keeping his eyes downfield. With a full, healthy season ahead, Tinlin has an opportunity to show why limited reps will turn into sustained success and firmly establish himself as a complete quarterback prospect on the rise.
Tinlin is an exciting prospect, measuring in at 5’10 165-pounds playing quarterback for Palmer Ridge. His junior season, he was the starting QB before suffering an injury, and his sophomore season he was a major contributor on the defensive side as a safety, due to his coverage skills and hard-hitting ability. Let’s dive into his QB analysis. In 4 games, he went 26/36 for 560 yards, 72.2 % completion rate, 7 TDs, 2 INT, 15 carries for 159 yards with 3 touchdowns. Tinlin has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and good balance. Very good throw power paired with a quick release and very good touch. Tinlin has a beautiful throwing motion. Very good pocket presence. Fluid in his drop backs and will step up in the pocket to make the throw. Very good under pressure. Tinlin consistently keeps his eyes downfield. Very good throw on the run both left and right with his fluid hips. Tinlin has very good scramble ability too. He’s not afraid of getting physical to gain extra yards on the ground. He’s an exciting player with a high ceiling that I’m excited to see more of !
Tinlin is a rangy, instinctive safety with fluid hips and excellent closing speed. He excels in coverage, often undercutting routes to generate turnovers, finishing last season with four interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He’s also a force against the run, capable of dropping into the box and blowing up plays in the backfield. His dual threat ability as a coverage defender and run stopper makes him a serious stock riser heading into the season.
Measuring in at 5’10 165-pounds, Tinlin had 37 total tackles (19 solo, 18 assisted), 1 TFL, 3 INT, 3 PD, and 1 pick 6. This safety has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, good change of direction, and jumping. Very good mental processing. He watches the QB’s eyes consistently. Very good reactionary speed. When the QB throws the ball, Tinlin is gone racing to the ball. He ranges from the zone, to sitting in the box for run support. Good tackler, and very good run stopper. Tinlin is a good block shedder too! In coverage, he has a good back pedal and maintains a balance between looking at the QB and receiver. Tinlin has good catching and very good ball tracking skills. He turned a tipped pass into an interception. One thing to note about Tinlin is his physicality. He’s aggressive getting to the ball, and is a hard hitter. Palmer Ridge has a plethora of young talent, and Tinlin slots right in with the rest.
