The 6’1 170-pound receiver had 5 receptions for 135 yards in the win over Montrose. Newman uses his very good athletic ability to dominate the gridiron all night long. He has very good speed, acceleration, change of direction, and jumping. Newman used his very quick feet and very good release to gain the upper hand at the line of scrimmage. He’d burst into his routes with very good separation quickness and fluid route running skills. Good ball tracking with very good catching. Strong hands to pluck the ball out of the air. Very good body control and adjustment skills. He adjusts to the ball in flight. After the catch, he uses his home run ability to break free. He was a consistent target for his QB, and showed why he’s a dominant wide receiver.
