There could be several guys that others may put in this spot but I feel the impact and performance from Syam last Fall was absolutely critical behind the team’s run after the D2-Class AAA state title. Over the second half of the season and into the playoffs, Syam took his game to another level and became the go-to offensive threat for McCallie that helped push them over the top, bringing another “Gold Ball” to campus. His postseason action was top notch but his overall work for the 2024 season was sensational where Syam rushed for 1,431 yards and 26 touchdowns for his senior year. His physical running style, grit and determination proved to be game changers on the Blue Tornadoes run after another championship.

Throughout the 2024 playoffs, Syam has been a man on a mission. He has become the team’s bell cow back and his power running was definitely needed in last night’s come from behind win over Baylor. His running proved to be a difference maker in the 2nd half as he ran through the Red Raiders defense on the way to 175 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Those three scores all came in the 2nd half to turn the game around with his final touchdown putting the Blue Tornado up for good. Syam definitely earned MVP honors due to his play, strength and will power to push his team to victory.

It doesn’t matter what Syam’s final stats might look like because he was the X-factor in this matchup that pushed his Blue Tornado team to the D2-Class AAA title game. McCallie made it a point in the 1st half to use Syam and the offensive line to establish their will and it worked as the senior back consistently plowed over the Ensworth defense. His physical running style wore down the Tigers defense where in the 2nd half, the McCallie offense began to pop for big plays and move the ball however they needed. That was able to be done due to the performance from Syam.

Out of all the stars on the Blue Tornado roster, Syam could be their most important player in the coming playoffs as he has taken his game to another level through the second half of the season and established himself as a lead guy from his running back position. The way Syam has been running of late, has provided balance to the McCallie offense as well as physical game play. The Blue Tornado senior could be the workhorse the team needs in these playoffs as competition will be tough and being able to run the ball and maintain the clock could be key towards a state title run.

is a prospect I expect to break out nationally probably more than anyone. Syam is a class of 2025 RB who had to sit behind a loaded running back room at the highly regarded College Charles-Lemoyne in Sainte-Catherine, Quebec. Often times sitting in a room that’s filled with studs means it can be harder to put a good amount of work on tape. That’s not the case with Syam, he still managed to put together almost 1200 yards rushing alongside 15 TD’s while getting a little less than 40% of the teams carries all season. Known for his physicality at 5’9, 205 pounds Syam plays really well inside the tackles and has elite vision. I love his ability to cut tightly and limit his excess movment. This is a future No.1 RB in the country make no mistake about it.
