Has to be the biggest oversight on this list. There aren’t 94 better ATHs, there aren’t 570 better prospects than East Pennsboro’s

, period. I’ll own up to that, and will get it fixed. Nothing like watching a kid dominate on both sides of the ball, ultimately leading to a drastic ranking change. That’s what is in store for the two-way senior captain out of EPHS. Yes, recruitment might be a bit slower than the new me might’ve liked. I do think this kid’s skillset should garner attention from every D2/D3 in the state, especially local programs. Oates two-way prowess, both at MLB as well as at QB, should elevate his stock for coaches recruiting the area. Maybe some won’t like him at QB, yet those same schools would surely love him at LB. Here’s to hoping the young man sees a future full of options and opportunity. Kid flexes a 4.0 GPA, too. Stony Brook has shown interest in the form of a gameday visit recently. We’ll see how the cookie crumbles. All I know is, this kid proved me wrong back in Week Zero.

Probably the biggest stock riser of any prospect I watched this entire weekend. I was skeptical of

‘ body and frame. I thought he was short and stocky, not an ideal frame to play QB at a high level if projecting to college-level ball. I was wrong. I wasn’t aware of how instinctual he is at LB. Long story short, I was dead wrong about this kid. I might want to pump my own breaks here, considering Suburban looked rough in Week Zero. Still, I’ve got to give this kid his flowers. Vocal, ton of energy at LB, played with a reckless abandon that had to energize his teammates. He looked to have more tackles than what was displayed on tape, felt like the kid was everywhere. Love how decisive he was with the ball. I think Oates could benefit by throttling down a bit and throwing with some tempo a little more often. Still, Oates distributed the football to his guys while both on the go or in the pocket. A couple of throws he’d like to have back, but an overall plus if you ask me. Based on this game, I’d figure this kid is a top-300 player in his class. I’ll be plugging in his tape each week.

, tweet described his Hudl as a great team win. That it was, yet I can’t help but think the win came heavily on Oates’ shoulders. What a fun tape to unravel, considering we are up in the air as to where Oates might fit best at the college level. Oates the defender might be the way to go, proving this with a 15-tackle night that also saw him sack and intercept the quarterback. We love Oates as a high-level DII prospect, nights like this should prove that case true. Oates ceiling is whatever he wants it to be, the young man is an elite football player, regardless of position or size.
