Expert Analysis
Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Fields climbs 17 spots from #21 to #4 in the updated rankings. The 6’3” 185 lb. DB can play any position in the secondary but has excelled as a lockdown CB. Fluid mover with excellent all around game speed to stay in phase at all three levels. Can match movement in the short area with elite change of direction and is a long strider to maintain coverage downfield. Shows great field awareness and vision while anticipating routes and throws to make plays at the catch point. Offer count has exploded as of late with 16 total including top programs such as Georgia, Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas coming in recently.

is one of those rare young corners who already plays like a veteran. He’s long, physical, and confident, but what separates him is how technically sound he is for his age. Everything about his game looks controlled — from the way he sinks into his pedal to how he plants and drives with no wasted motion. He trusts his instincts and it shows when the ball is in the air; he breaks off one route and seamlessly transitions to close on another. His frame gives him an edge — a big body with long arms that help him disrupt at the line or contest catches downfield — but he moves like a smaller DB, light on his feet and fluid in his hips. When he hits, he hits with intent. It’s not just raw tools either; his technique is ahead of schedule, and the combination of physicality and polish makes him that much more dangerous. With multiple years left to grow, Fields already plays like one of the leaders of this Hamilton defense — steady, smart, and ready for any matchup they throw his way.

Fields moves up from the watchlist and into the rankings at #21 overall and the #5 DB in the 2028 class. 6’2” 175 lbs. he’s a fluid athlete with the ability to impact the game in all three phases and the physical tools to thrive at the major D1 level. Hard burst and quick accelerator with true top end speed, allowing him to cover ground quickly at DB and create big play opportunities as a receiver. His ability to get vertical on both sides of the ball stands out. In coverage, he plays with great field awareness and vision staying in phase, maintaining leverage, and reading routes with advanced anticipation. He closes quickly and times out his breaks well showing strong instincts and reaction skills. Plus ball skills with the ability to judge/track deep throws, high point the football, and make plays outside his frame. Already holds four D1 offers from Arizona, UTEP, Colorado State, and NAU and will be a double digit offer prospect before long.

Fields is an impressive natural athlete and football player that can be a threat in all three phases. 6’2” 175 lbs. he’s got good length in his fame and room for growth without sacrificing his athleticism and speed. He’s a fluid mover that is both quick and fast. Gets to top speed within a few strides and has the long speed to cover vertically at DB or stretch the field and make plays after the catch at WR. Does a good job attaching to receivers in coverage and sustaining positional leverage to be in phase. He’s able to recognize routes and anticipate throws to make early breaks on the ball. High level ball skills demonstrated on both sides, he times out his jump and extends at the catch point to play it outside his framework. He’s a major D1 prospect that recently collected his first offer from Colorado State.
