It was surprising to see Strand go as long as he did without an offer but finally saw the D1 attention he deserves when Nevada offered him mid June where he quickly committed. 6’1” 200 lbs. he’s a versatile defender with high level technique and natural ability. His movement/footwork is controlled and efficient limiting wasted steps in coverage and run support. Quick to diagnose he makes decisive reads and triggers to disrupt plays before they can develop, finished the 2025 season with 10 tackles for loss. He’s a plus athlete that can run and stay attached in coverage to close throwing lanes and play the ball at the catch point. Expected to be a key piece to the Hamilton defense coming into his senior year.
